If you are a person who loves to socialize, like me, then you undoubtedly enjoy a good dinner with friends, family or people from work. I actually do this on a regular basis, usually in the weekend. I like to turn the dinner into something special. I like to impress my guests!

If you want to make a serious attempt at making a lasting impression on your friends, family or colleagues, then you have to learn how to properly set up the dinner table. What kind of cutlery and glassware you will be using, completely depends on what you will be eating and drinking.

Luckily, real glassware is not an absolute requirement for any special occasion. Nowadays, there are polycarbonate stemless wine glasses that look extremely real. You wouldn’t know they were plastic unless you inspected them up close. While unbreakable, these glasses’ quality differs from one brand to the next.

As a natural result of high demand, there are a lot of different kinds of plastic glasses available to the consumer these days. So how exactly are you going to figure out which ones are the best for your personal situation? I used to be a professional party organizer and I’ve learnt some strategies about how to get the right ones. I would like to share these with you.

1. Shape of the glasses. What shape your glasses should have, all depends on the occasion. Is your kid having a birthday and are his friends coming over? Then you should go with party style lemonade glasses that don’t have a stem. For fancy wine dinners, go with wine glasses.

2. Glass Color. In case you are going to have white wine, you must definitely go with clear glasses. The colored ones can be used for just about any other drink, such as lemonade, soft drinks and red wine.

3. Price. Not only are plastic glasses unbreakable, they are also much cheaper than real glassware. You can usually purchase them in sets of four or six. The price should never surpass the $35 mark by a large margin. If they do, keep looking for another set.

That’s all there’s to it! Stick to the strategy and you are absolutely sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests, no matter what the occasion is!
